In this tutorial, we are going to create a motorized slider. It could be used for time lapse work or other types of video. I'll breakdown all the parts and tools you need, and then show how I constructed it all into a functioning slider. If you want to build your own slider, we recently published a tutorial on how to make a basic video slider using awesome open source CNC products that may also suit your needs.

List of Parts
I sourced most of my parts from eBay, however, these parts are available from many different sources.
- Timing belt clamp
- Timing belt
- Tripod ball head
- Motor bracket
- 1/4" to 3/8" screw adapters
For some of the elements like the rail and the carriage, you are going to need milling machine to drill the holes and work on them. I strongly recommend to bring all your parts to a specialist to drill them like I did. If you try to do by hand without the needed equipment you can damange your parts.
