Just because you didn’t get to go to that awesome photography conference doesn’t mean that you can’t learn something from the pros! Occasionally, we’ll be featuring a recommended photography lecture or interview on Phototuts+.
Almost all camera and lenses companies recruit photographers to showcase their products. It's almost like shoe companies sponsoring athletes. Almost all of these companies also post interviewers with the photographer's they've recruited. Some of these should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but these videos do give you a glimpse into the work of a specific photographer and at what a product is capable of in the hands of an expert. Today we're featuring a interview with Deb Schwedhelm for Lensbaby lenses.
Schwedhelm is a portrait photographer based in Tampa, Florida. While she doesn't use the Lensbaby all the time, it's featured heavily in this video. The shots are gorgeous. Lensbaby produces basic tilt-shift lenses for DSLR cameras. With the popularity of tilt-shift filters and the decline of large format cameras with tilt-able bellows, the Lensbaby is an option for authentic tilt-shift work.
