How to Add Depth to Your Travel Video Using Creative Composition
It’s exciting to travel to a new place, exploring new locations and cultures. Video is a great way to share these experiences; it’s one of the most powerful mediums for storytelling. Video can take you to the heart of the action and make your audience feel like they're there themselves. It’s easier to record than ever before, but few people know how to create a really compelling video.
Good composition can turn an ordinary scene into one that’s creative and captivating. Knowing good techniques, such as not putting your subject in the middle of the frame, or capturing movement diagonally across the frame rather than horizontally, can add dynamism to an otherwise flat scene.
How you compose your frame can draw attention to your subject in the way that you want, better enabling you to tell your particular story. In this lesson, we’ll look at the rule of thirds, where to place horizons, and how to create the illusion of depth.
