How to Respect Indigenous People and Record Cultures and Customs Responsibly

by
Length:QuickLanguages:

Exposure to local culture is a big part of the appeal of travel, but, like at home, not everyone is open to being on camera. Some people, cultures and religions are sensitive about image-making in general. Some countries don’t like you to take pictures of military facilities, and some are sensitive about recording children. It’s wise to research the customs, laws, and expectations of the places you’re visiting.

This lesson will look at seeking permission to capture video, release forms, and where to go to find the best images. You’ll learn how to be mindful of foreign cultures and customs when you’re recording video.
