Friday Photo Critique is our weekly community project, where we publish a photograph submitted by one of our wonderful readers, then ask you all to offer constructive feedback on the image. It’s a great way to learn more about photography, express your viewpoint, and have your own image critiqued!
Quick Ground Rules
- Play nice! We’ve deliberately chosen photographs that aren’t perfect, so please be constructive with any criticism.
- Feel free to offer any type of advice – composition, lighting, post-processing etc.
- You can also link to photographs that you feel offer a great example of this type of image shot exceptionally well.
Without further ado, here is this week’s candidate for Friday Photo Critique!
Photo Details & Inspiration
- Canon 5DmkIII
- ISO 800
This photograph was taken after the bride, Jignasha Desai, had walked down the isle and sat down in front of her husband to-be, Veemal Desai. Minutes before, Jignasha's beautiful debut was unveiled to Veemal who awaited anxiously. I asked her to take a look at her friends and family as they celebrated with great pomp.
I wanted to capture Jignasha's expression as she radiated with joy and happiness. I used Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT and directly faced it at her from the front of the chair. I stood 45 degrees from it to get a nice glow on the right side.
