Sonic Slideshow #5: Speed - Submit Your Photo!

Read Time:2 minsLanguages:

Today, we're continuing our Sonic Slideshow series, creating another beautiful collection of images from our talented readers. We'll ask you to submit one of your photos on a particular theme, and will pick the best entries to include in a fantastic video slideshow in a couple weeks (accompanied by an awesome soundtrack from AudioJungle).

It's a great way to showcase your work on the site, and be part of a fun project! This month's theme is Speed! Read on for more information, and details on how to submit your photo!

The Need For Speed

Our next slideshow will commemorate the achievements of Jacqueline Cochran. On a clear day 58 years ago in California, Cochran climbed into the cockpit of a Canadair F-86 Sabre borrowed from the Canadian Royal Air Force.

She proceeded to become the first woman to break the sound barrier. May 18th, the day this slideshow will be presented, marks the anniversary of that achievement. Cochran went on to compile a huge list of records: first woman to take-off and land from an aircraft carrier, first woman to reach mach 2, and first pilot to make a blind landing. She holds more distance and speed records than any pilot, living or dead, male or female.

Jacqueline Cochran reminds us that speed is not just about thrills, but about pushing the limits and testing what we are capable of. We hope this slideshow reinforces that idea.

We'd love to see one of your photos demonstrating speed - either a recent one, or one from a few years ago. Get creative, and show us what speed means to you!

How To Enter

To have your photo considered for use in our slideshow, you just need to add it to the Sonic Slideshow Flickr Group! Your photo should be available full-size, with a minimum width or height of 2000px.

We'll pick between 20-30 of the best images in about one week, and use those in the slideshow (we'll credit you with a link to your Flickr account as well).

The best three images, selected by Phototuts+ and AudioJungle, will also receive a special prize of $20 marketplace credit!

What's AudioJungle?

As well as the Tuts+ network, Envato™ also run a series of marketplaces for buying and selling digital goods. One such marketplace is AudioJungle, crammed with all manner of audio and music files for you to purchase. These could make the perfect compliment to your photo slideshow, and are definitely worth checking out!
