Photographing portraits with available light has many advantages. These include speed and ease of setup (almost instant), low cost (free!) and a wide variety of lighting qualities. In this tutorial, we'll explore one of the best ways to photograph with available light: using sunlight filtered through windows. A part of every building, windows can create interesting lighting scenarios and unique scenes. We'll look at three ways to use window light to create a portrait.
- Back-lighting
- Side-lighting
- Diffused front light.
