In today's tutorial, we'll be taking an in-depth look a box camera. Box camera is a generic term for a primitive instant camera which uses photo paper to produce a negative and subsequently duplicate that negative to turn it into a final image. In short, it's a camera with a darkroom built inside of it.
You may have had some exposure to with them when The Afghan Box Camera Project went viral. We'll take a look at my custom built box camera, which varies quite a bit from any other camera I've seen. You'll also get a chance to see me take a photo of my vintage 1970s Garelli moped.
