Let’s get started!
1. Choose a Video Clip to Loop
Learning how to loop a clip in Premiere is easy. The first step is to choose a clip (or a portion of a clip) that you want to loop.
Clips in Premiere Pro are placed in your Timeline. Think of the Timeline as the control center for your video. In the Timeline, you’ll control the timing and sequencing of all the multimedia in your videos.
The Timeline is found in the lower center of your Premiere Pro screen. It’s directly below the Program Monitor, which is the video preview panel in the upper center.

Here, you can see the clip placed on the Timeline. You can choose to loop the entire clip. Or, you can trim only a section of it, using the Razor Tool.
2. Duplicate the Clip to Add Loops
Once you’ve selected the clip that you want to loop, click on it once. This selects the clip in the Timeline. Then, copy it to your clipboard. On Mac, you’ll do this with Command + C on your keyboard. For Windows, press Control + C.
Then, press Command (or Control) + V. This pastes an exact duplicate of the clip onto your Timeline. Once you see it, click and drag on the pasted clip. Move it so that it sits directly after the first clip that you copied. Don’t leave any blank space between these clips.

Now, you can choose to copy and paste the clip again and again. This is optional - you’ve already created one loop. But you can paste the same clip as many times as you want.
Just repeat the earlier steps of avoiding any blank space between each of the loops that you add. Here, let’s paste three times in total to create a series of loops.

3. Streamline Loop Transitions with a Dissolve Effect
You’ve just learned how to make a video loop in Premiere Pro. But for maximum style effect, you’re not quite finished. If you play back over your video, you’ll see the loops in action. But notice how each loop appears a bit jerky or choppy. Why not smooth out the loop so that it’s more visually appealing?
For this, it’s a good idea to add a Cross Dissolve effect at the point where clips loop. This is a seamless visual transition that smooths the looping motion.
To add a Cross Dissolve, open your Effects panel. It’s found by going to Window > Effects. It will launch as a sidebar panel on the right side of your Premiere screen.

On the Effects panel, go to Video Transitions > Dissolve > Cross Dissolve. Click and drag the Cross Dissolve effect onto your Timeline. Where two clips join, drop it into place on the leftmost clip. Repeat this step for each loop in your video, as you can see below.

Now, when you play back your video, the loops will be much smoother and visually better to watch. Just like that, you’ve learned how to loop a video in Premiere Pro. It’s an easy, powerful edit technique you'll use for seamless edits.
