CapCut is primarily a mobile app. With this in mind, I’ll show you how to whiten teeth in CapCut on an Apple iPhone. Android user? Not a problem - CapCut is available for free from the Google Play Store. Plus, you can edit on your computer, thanks to Mac and Windows versions.

1. Launch CapCut’s retouch panel
CapCut packs an impressive array of tools and effects into the app. To whiten teeth, you’ll be looking for the Retouch effects. Think of a Retouch as a corrective edit. In other words, it removes or corrects a visual defect. It’s less about design, and more about quality improvements.
With a CapCut project open, you will see a video preview in the upper center of your screen. It’s here that effects and edits will display in real time! And at the very bottom the CapCut menu is the toolbar. It’s the row of buttons at the base of your screen.
On the far left side of the toolbar, select the Edit button. Now, the toolbar shows all of CapCut’s core editing features. Scroll to the right by swiping your finger from right to left. About halfway across, you’ll come to the Retouch menu option. Tap Retouch to open it up.
2. Find and add the white teeth effect
When you select Retouch, the toolbar offers you two options. These are category groupings of retouch effects, labeled Face and Body. Teeth whitening is a Face effect, so choose this option by tapping the thumbnail.
Notice what happens on the video preview. CapCut will detect the face of your video subject! And below, you’ll see the Face Retouch options. Scroll this menu bar to the far right side. There, you’ll see the White teeth button. Tap it to launch the whitening options in CapCut.
3. Adjust CapCut’s white teeth effect for maximum correction
With the White teeth menu active, a slider will appear at the bottom of your screen. The default setting here is zero. That simply means that no whitening teeth effects are applied automatically. To whiten teeth in CapCut, pull the slider to the right.
As you move the slider, watch the video preview. You’ll see every smile get noticeably brighter! As always with retouch edits, be careful here. The tool is powerful, and if you go too far, smiles are so white that they can look unnatural.
The trick is to remove yellowness without appearing artificial. And with non-destructive edits, you can always experiment and make changes later. Your original video forever remains unaltered.
