What You Need to Know About Tripods
A solid base for shots that require no movement and smooth tilt and pan are the essential ingredients for a tripod. Height is also a requirement. Say you are filming a documentary, and you are positioned in the crowd, that extra foot that the tripod gives you above people's heads is incredibly useful.



Also if you're filming run and gun, the speed that you can adapt can be critical. So a quick release plate is a must. The tripod also acts as a solid base for other equipment, like a slider. Next to your camera, a proper tripod is the thing that you just can't do without.
