1.1 Introduction
Film photography always has a special place in the heart of photographers. There's something about film images that digital images often don't have. Hi, I'm Harry Guinness, and welcome to this tuts+ course. In this course we're gonna look at trying to recreate some of the magic of the film look in the digital dark room. We're gonna look at what makes film images and film photography special, and look at how we can recreate that in light room. I'm gonna use one of VSCO's wonderful film presets to emulate the Kodak Gold 100 film. This is a classic film, and there are tens of thousands of photos that have been taken with this. We're gonna use this preset as a base to edit an image off. We're not gonna just apply the preset and leave it at that. Instead, we're gonna do some local adjustments and some tweaks to the overall look of the image to create a really great emulation of the film look and at the same time emulate some of the intention that goes into creating a film image. So, without further ado, let's get started. In the next movie I'll introduce what you need and what you need to know, and then we'll jump straight into the learning.
